In the permitting part of this construction there were details that we presented to the town and a presentation made by Jay Norton Coastal. At the meeting the town commented how professionally this was done and how rare it was that they see such quality and thorough work. Our application was approved with praise. Coastal also did the structural design and foundation of our house. This included designing a pile foundation in the flood zone as well as the support structure and building above. All I can say is that it is not under built and when the tsunami hits, the foundation will still be there as the only remaining landmark!! Again they have been open to exploring changes I asked for and have been easy to talk to on a wide range of unusual conditions that exist on our project.

John's structural and historical expertise guided the restoration of the Pilgrim Monument in the direction of a state-of-the-art fiber technology that addressed corrosion-related repair and increased the Monument's structural integrity. It proved to be a cost-effective application that produced a moisture-proof "exoskeleton system" to fortify the interior structure including ramps and stairs for the 252' tall granite monument. The work also included upgrades to the observation platform and viewing stations. This unique project was undertaken during the off-season with serious deadlines to be met.
